    Job Description

    The California Craft Brewers Association (CCBA) is seeking an Events and Marketing Coordinator to join our downtown Sacramento based team. The position is for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can manage a wide variety of events. You will be responsible for managing, planning, and executing association events, and fundraisers, including our signature annual event the California Craft Beer Summit. The ideal candidate is someone with a passion for event planning, creative thinking & problem-solving abilities and motivation to develop and grow the events and fundraising program.

    This position also handles event marketing and communication initiatives, including social media campaigns, email marketing, multimedia, and public relations for association fundraisers and events.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Manage event details including attendance, speakers, schedule, and communication outreach
    • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues
    • Create financial reports and marketing budgets
    • Develop new ideas to build, promote and improve CCBA events and fundraisers throughout the year
    • Serve as staff liaison to the CCBA Board Fundraising and Educational committees
    • Create the fundraising and events strategy
    • Develop, respond, and manage promotional events and campaigns in collaboration with the CCBA Executive Director and staff
    • Liaison with potential event sponsors/exhibitors to gauge their needs
    • Design and direct the design of all promotional materials
    • Identify and develop outreach tools, processes, and materials for events, partners, and sponsorship sales
    • Report on progress and tracking feedback to improve sales efforts and processes
    • Develop and cultivate new contacts and relationships
    • Contact vendors for outsourced services and manage vendor contracts
    • Provides government affairs support to the Executive Director as needed and coordinates legislative events, annual advocacy day, tours, and receptions
    • Administrative support backup as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Event Management or related field
    • At least two years of experience in event planning
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
    • Experience with event budgeting, scheduling and vendor management
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • High level of adaptability and flexibility
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Passion for events and event planning
    • Ability to work well in teams

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, significant events, and driving. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but can occasionally be moderate.

    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing assigned duties, the Event and Marketing Coordinator may be required to perform tasks that require driving, bending/stooping, carrying/lifting to 25 lbs., climbing, reaching/twisting, kneeling, manual dexterity (grasp/handle/keyboarding), pushing/pulling, prolonged standing/sitting, frequent walking.
