    Summary Description

    Assist P&A Manager in all Inventory Control related operations. Operations could include but are not limited to assisting in maintaining inventory accuracy in Parts & Accessories participating in daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems and performing physical and electronic cycle counting and annual inventories. Supporting Parts & Accessories Manager reviewing the levels of slow-moving, non-moving, and excessive inventory and subsequent effects on departmental profitability in dealership.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    Merchandise Flow

    • Manage and control the stock room.
    • Make sure that the floor is always fully stocked.
    • After receiving products, make sure that product is accurately placed/stocked and is easily accessible by floor sales staff.
    • Assist the Parts & Accessories Manager in the buying process, which includes, but is not limited to,
    • Assist the Parts & Accessories Manager and Parts & Accessories team in floor moves, merchandising, and store set up.
    • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
    • Inspecting incoming materials and notifying appropriate staff of potential quality issues.

    Merchandise Receiving

    • Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
    • Inspecting incoming materials and notifying appropriate staff of potential quality issues.
    • Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, initiates proof of delivery documents.
    • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
    • Help ensure adequate inventory of materials and products in accord with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy.
    • Assist Parts & Accessories Manager with purchasing needs and inventory expectations.
    • As assigned, review monthly sales, inventory valuation, non-mover, and slow-mover reports to assist in the projection of future inventory needs.
    • Help maintain sufficient quantities of stock to support demands and sustain acceptable inventory turn ratios.
    • Support in plans of removing non-moving and slow-moving merchandise in all areas of dealership.

    • Help ensure adequate inventory of materials and products in accord with inventory cycles and organizational philosophy.

    • Assist Parts & Accessories Manager with purchasing needs and inventory expectations.

    • As assigned, review monthly sales, inventory valuation, non-mover, and slow-mover reports to assist in the projection of future inventory needs.

    Inventory Accuracy**

    • Help solve inventory problems.
    • Implement and carry out inventory control procedures for all necessary departments.
    • Carry out monthly physical cycle counts.
    • Work with dealership to conduct annual physical count.
    • Demonstrate an ability to maintain accurate and current inventory records.

    Qualifications & Job Requirements

    • Must have ability to get along with a broad customer base.
    • Schooling or experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
    • Experience with Point-of-Sale and computerized inventory systems or the ability to quickly learn.

    Physical Demands

    • Must have the ability to stand and walk on sales floor for most of the day.

    • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift 50 lb. of merchandise.

    Working Conditions

    • Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department.
    • Occasionally exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
    • Majority of work is conducted indoors; however, some outdoor booth sales are conducted periodically during open houses or other events.
    • As pursuant to California Proposition 65, during your work you may be exposed to various materials and chemicals that have been known to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
