The position we have available is for experienced Class A Porter.
The duties are critical to our continued growth and success. We are looking for a strong minded, intelligent, hardworking, resilient individual with experience and a grasp of trucking, DOT rules and regulations and strong ability to complete proper trucking paperwork.
Drivers will be making movements in the yard and will also be transporting between yards.
Drivers will be stationed in Fontana, Ca. This is a good position for those looking to be close to home.
Job Duties Include:
Under the direction of the department manager and team leaders you will perform required trailer switches. Most switches are urgent and critical.
Drive Tractor with 53’ Trailers and Flat Beds & Sea Containers
Drop and Switch Trailers and Flat Beds & Sea Containers
Transport trailers between off-site locations.
Responsible for performing daily inspections of yard equipment and reporting all defects.
Ensures units are maintained in a safe manner.
Weigh Trailers and Trucks on Truck Scales
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS:
• 2 yrs. Minimum experience in Tractor
• Bilingual highly desired
• Knowledge in DOT Guidelines
• Experience with Flat Bed strapping
• Ability to work long hours, in accordance with DOT guidelines
• Quick learner and intelligent
• Team Player
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Recycling or shipping experience a plus
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• The desire to do the job right every time
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
$18.50-20 per hour DOE
