ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expectations and Purpose:
Responsible for the success of assigned functions while working with Director of Operations to carry out strategies and objectives for maximizing productivity in a safe clean work environment.
Work closely with warehouse and shipping receiving leads along with material handlers and loaders to oversee productivity, safety, cleanliness and proper and timely job execution.
Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment
Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and third parties
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Create an employee and customer focused environment in which respect is provided to all employees and excellent service to all customers
General Duties
Unloads customers vehicles/ trailers/ bins/ of recyclable material. Assists internal and external customers with recyclables when needed.
Follows company, federal, and state safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries and accidents.
Checks facility equipment and reports to Operations Management for any safety issues or necessary maintenance.
May be required to use forklift, skid steer, boom, yard goat, baler and must be certified on all.
Must have ability to follow proper grading of plastic, fiber, and trash.
Responsible to fill out APB tickets accurately, clearly and completely.
Properly completes production reports, load sheets, and preventative maintenance log.
Responsible to document, photograph trash and contamination report to sales and management.
Responsible to stage final product safely in their designated areas.
May require loading of final product on trailers.
Required to keep plant, yard and parking lots clean and safe of debris and hazards.
May be required to work offsite for owners, customers, vendors in a manner of clean up duties.
Supervisory Duties
Assists Director of Operations as necessary and effectively communicate with warehouse staff and management.
Ensure warehouse employees comply with company, federal, and state safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries and accidents.
Provide documentation to Director of Operations and oversee that proper documentation is performed by warehouse staff.
Audit warehouse communication logs and forms to ensure proper documentation
Ensure team documents, photograph trash and contamination report to sales and management.
Monitor the shipment and receiving of all materials.
Ensure shipping and receiving procedures are being followed.
Audit warehouse receiving and shipping forms to ensure proper documentation
Assist in maintenance of basic machinery, equipment, buildings and grounds
Document work performed on baler and understand the baler service log
Act as point of contact for all maintenance of assigned equipment
Perform daily forklift inspections and ensure all personnel complete inspection forms
Conduct regular inspections on building and facility in assigned work areas
Supervise storage of all supplies and equipment
Monitor functionality of baler, dock scale and related assigned area equipment
Report any unsafe conditions to Director of Operations, Director of Human Resources and/or Owners
Supervise, evaluate and train employees assigned to the warehouse
Assist in the implementation and continued compliance for all safety and operational procedures
Assist with performance reviews when requested
Lead by example by providing positive and constructive feedback in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate
Correct unsafe conditions in the workplace by dispatching maintenance and notify all employees of unsafe conditions
Ensure use and operations of all tools and machinery is in accordance to safety procedures
Assist with the implementation of safety practices and safety meetings
Working Conditions
· This job operates in a recycling operations warehouse. This role routinely uses forklifts, tools and heavy equipment and machinery and therefore requires the use of PPE at all times.
· This employee is required to frequently walk, bend, kneel, sit and balance for long periods of time.
· This employee is occasionally required to lift and pull up to 80 pounds.
· This employee is required to frequently sweep, dig, lift and pull
· This employee will regularly work around machinery with moving parts and high noise level
· This employee will regularly work around moving objects and vehicles
· Must have flexible working hours and be able to work according to agreed schedules.
· Exposure to natural weather conditions
· This employee will must be able to work additional hours and nights and weekend
