    Position:          COLLECTIONS OPERATION MANAGER - OAKLAND

    REPORTS TO:     CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

    Overview:        We seek a Collections Operations Manager to become an integral part of our Oakland team! 

                            The Collections Operation Manager (OPS) - Oakland oversees the daily operations of California Waste Solutions (CWS)                                  drivers and maintenance staff located in our Oakland sites. The OPS Manager provides leadership, promotes teamwork,                                  coaches and communicates with our employees. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage and improve operational practices
    • Allocate resources and materials to meet project deadlines
    • Track and forecast operational trends and analysis
    • Provide daily operations oversight for outside teams
    • Formalize policies and procedures in accordance to HR regulations

    • Previous experience in operations supervision or other related fields
    • Minimum of 5+ years of management experience
    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in recycling, waste or transportation industry is a plus

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

           Ensures smooth operation of the driver site, driver scheduling, routing, maintenance of trucks and customer service

    ·      Management of all fleet and shop equipment, route supervisors and managers, drivers and maintenance staff for CWS locations

    ·      Ensure maintenance and utility staff are adequately trained and equipped to accomplish work in a safe and productive manner

    ·      Provide leadership, observation, guidance, direction, support and instruction to all subordinates both as individuals and as a group to             ensure good two-way communication

    ·      Manage the operation in accordance with company policy, operating protocol and applicable laws

    ·      Ensure City, County, State and Federal regulations are met at all times

    ·      Maintain compliance for the following programs: storm water, spill prevention, hazardous waste, air quality, fire safety and emergency             action program

    ·      Maintain transportation and environmental compliance and records for fleet equipment and shop, in computer and paper files

    ·      Conduct training for OSHA, EPA and DOT and company policies for drivers and maintenance staff

    ·      Conduct weekly travel to CWS facilities/operations to manage and review activities and staff

    ·      Review the operation of equipment and systems constantly to minimize downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement

    ·      Conduct regular inspections and prepare reports for facility and equipment

    ·      Review safety records to uphold standards and performance for all subordinates and enforce company safety programs

    ·      Conduct employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of all subordinates

    ·      Evaluate and report about quality, productivity, quantity and efficiency of subordinates·     

           Engage in corrective action and progressive discipline in response to necessary work product improvement

    ·      Manage labor relationships and compliance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)

    ·      Manage and complete payroll reporting for subordinates

    ·      Manage recruiting of new drivers and maintenance staff

    ·      Manage vendor relations for the purchase, supply, maintenance and warranty of equipment and supplies

    ·      Communicate with and provide regular support to colleagues and managers to ensure effective two-way communication, maintenance            and safety operations

    ·      Receive and implement direction from senior managers; provide feedback and interaction to questions

    ·      Manage, operate and maintain company software programs, such as Fleetmate and Aestiva

    ·      Develop and contribute to budget and forecasts, and participate and contribute to weekly and monthly intercompany activity meetings
