CALIFORNIA WASTE SOLUTIONS is seeking for a qualified Accounts Receivable Specialist.
OVERVIEW: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a member of a multi-faceted finance management team. The ARS is responsible for the day-to-day accounts receivable activities including related document generation, data entry, incoming payments processing, problems resolution, related reports generation, filing and document management. The ARS clearly understands company approval procedures, uses the accounting system to access information, and may perform related special projects as assigned by the Controller. The ARS participates on a functional level that includes other Accounting specialists. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensure the timely generation and accuracy of outgoing invoices • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of customer accounts and their relative payment status • Address accounts receivable problems • Maintain accounts receivable general ledger. • Prepare various accounting statements and financial reports. • Assist with customer dispute resolution • Analyze financial reports and outputs various reports as needed. • Ensure that monthly closing activities are completed accurately and on time. • Maintain an accounts receivable documents management and filing system • Assist in other financial and accounting projects as needed
REGULAR ACTIVITIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: • Generating customer invoices and entering related data into system • Preparing CRV claims • Maintaining PayPal for bulky service payments • Generating customer statements • Applying payments to customer account and prepare bank deposit slips. • Generating accounts receivable aging reports • Following up on open or partially paid invoices and debit memos • Contacting customers on past due accounts and conducting collection process following the company’s policy • Maintaining company credit and collection policy and suggest improvements • Processing credit applications and provide analysis to Controller for credit approval • Preparing various related reports as required • Researching accounts receivable problems • Assisting with reconciling accounts receivable and resolving discrepancies. • Suggesting improvements to the accounts receivable process
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: • Some college coursework completed in related area • 1 – 2 years of basic bookkeeping experience • Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable processing standards and procedures • Strong financial analytical skills • Strong organizational skills • Strong computer skills • Proficiency with commonly used Microsoft software programs • Strong organizational ability • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to interact with diverse people • Good general oral and written communication skills • Ability to communicate specifically with employees, customers, vendors, and management
