Description of Position

We are seeking a mid-level hydrogeologist (5-8 years) to support our expanding hydrogeological services group based in Tucson, AZ.

Duties

• Work with our groundwater and geotechnical modeling group providing support for the development of coupled geotechnical-hydrogeological models.
• Support development of conceptual and numerical groundwater flow models optimized for use in geotechnical stability models.
• Provide support to develop datasets required to couple the geotechnical-hydrogeological models; construction of geological models; hydrogeological analysis using analytical methods; development of appropriate datasets for calibrating coupled numerical models.
• Writing programs (C++/Fortran/Python/Matlab/etc.) to assist in coupling models and data analysis.
• Assist in the development of variably saturated models.
• General office duties include: preparation of drawings, general data analysis, and written summaries of work conducted.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, or related discipline
• 5-8 years’ experience
• Work experience in groundwater modeling required (preferably FEFLOW).
• Experience in geotechnical or mining engineering a plus but not required
• Experience using AutoCAD, ArcGIS, FEFLOW, MODFLOW/MODFLOW-SURFACT
• All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
