    Accounting Assistant

    Reports to: Director of Accounting

    FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

    Hours per week: 40 Hours, Full-time

    Campus: Melbourne

    Job Summary:

    This position provides administrative, organizational, and various other support for the Accounting department.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Assist Bookkeeper-Cash Receipts staff to prepare bank deposits, including Café sales audit spreadsheets (Proverbs 16:3)

    · Mail vendor checks, including attachments, and deliver internal payments to mailboxes

    · Scan contribution checks and offering envelopes

    · Pick up, sort, open and distribute incoming company mail daily under dual control authority

    · Maintain accounting records storage area and list of storage boxes

    · Maintain petty cash fund and replenishes petty cash (1 Corinthians 4:2)

    · Administer change funds/cash boxes

    · Collect reimbursement funds for personal photocopies, postage, and print jobs

    · Prepare various filing folders, binders, and other organizational needs (1 Corinthians 14:40)

    · Order supplies for accounting staff, as needed and other administrative tasks

    · Keep confidential all personal information related to donations and money received (Proverbs 11:13)

    · Assist Senior Director of Accounting with spreadsheet input

    · Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

    · Other duties as assigned by Supervisor (Colossians 3:23)

    Job Skills and Competencies:

    · Good written and verbal communication skills

    · Confident money-handling accounting skills

    · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) software for procedures and spreadsheets

    · Ability to learn and utilize Revel software

    Other Qualifications:
