    High School P.E. Aide

    Reports to: P.E. Teacher

    FLSA status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

    Hours per week: 40 hours, Full-time

    Campus: Melbourne

    Job Summary:

    To assist the supervising teacher(s) to ensure students learn sportsmanship attitudes and physical educational skills which will contribute to their overall development as mature, able, and responsible Christians.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Assist the supervising teacher with implementation of the daily program

    · Plan and preparing the learning environment, setting up centers when necessary, and preparing needed materials and supplies

    · Become familiar with the units of instruction and daily lesson plans

    · Assist with ordering needed equipment

    · Always be alert to safety hazards and report such hazards to your supervisor

    · Serve as locker room attendant

    · Greet children as they arrive for class

    · Encourage safety habits in P.E. activities

    · Perform clerical tasks

    · Ability to know and properly use PE equipment

    · Keep all (students, parents, staff) personal and medical information confidential (Proverbs 11:13)

    · Demonstrate the following character qualities: enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance and punctuality (2 Corinthians 9:8)

    · Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, retreat, committee, faculty and Parent Teacher Fellowship meetings

    · Other duties as assigned by Supervisor (Colossians 3:23)

    Job Skills and Competencies:

    · Education Level – high school diploma or a GED equivalent

    · Demonstrate knowledge, skill and understanding of the practices, methods and techniques used in physical education

    · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.) software

    · Possess good verbal and written communication skills

    Other Qualifications:

    · Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church

    · Keep the ministry in the forefront of all you do, with a servant heart and optimistic attitude (Philippians 2:3)

    · Conduct yourself in a manner that reinforces the core values and mission of Calvary Chapel and agree to our Statement of Faith

    · Function as a productive part of the church staff and attend staff meetings in coordination with direct supervisor (1 Peter 4:10)

    · Demonstrate a mature, ongoing personal relationship with Jesus through spiritual and moral integrity

    · Strong commitment to the vision and mission of Calvary Chapel Melbourne

    · Fruit of the Spirit is consistently displayed in your life, as a reflection of God’s love to colleagues and visitors (Galatians 5:22-23)
