  • Responsibilities

    The Senior Programmer Analyst performs technical, analytical, and support functions to help the division and the company meet its goals. Responsible for data and systems analysis for solutions based on requirements for all business areas within Cambia Health Solutions.

    GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND OUTCOMES

    • Develops knowledge of health plan operations, health plan data sources and structures.
    • Proactively identifies issues and concerns to management.
    • Communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
    • Interprets business requirements and develops data and systems design specifications.
    • Writes code or configuration to implement business requirements using approved technologies.
    • Develops tests to validate correct implementation of the business requirements.
    • Acquire knowledge of Cambia data systems to meet the analytical and reporting needs of the division and the corporation.
    • Assist and mentor other team members and internal business partners.
    • Contributes to strategic and tactical planning efforts.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Keen analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Solid oral and written communication skills, including presentation and technical writing skills.
    • Familiarity with relational databases and client-server concepts.
    • Demonstrated skills using SQL coding and report tools.
    • Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimum supervision.
    • Must be able to develop efficient and effective program and system solutions in solving business problems.
    • Ability to review, analyze, and enhance configuration/programming systems including coding, testing, and debugging.
    • Must be able to effectively adapt to changing technologies and methodologies and apply them to technological and/or business needs.
    • Knowledge of healthcare and healthcare business processes a plus.
    • Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in code development using multiple tools ETL tools and SQL coding (Toad, PGAdmin, etc.).
    • Ability to represent the division visibly in internal meetings.

    The Senior Programmer Analyst would have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Operational Technology Management, Computer Science, Operations Research or an equivalent related field and 8+ years job-related work experience including 4+ years prior work experience in healthcare and healthcare business processes. or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Work primarily performed in office environment.
    • Travel may be required, locally or out of state.
    • May be required to work outside normal hours
