    POSITION SUMMARY:

    As Director of Stores, you will lead and inspire by practicing an omni-channel mindset in support of Eileen Fisher’s brand vision and strategic direction.  In this role, you will partner and guide Direct to Customer (DTC) strategy and priorities to accelerate DTC transformation and build authentic experiences that deliver exceptional service while building community and culture for both store teams and clients.

     

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

     

    BUSINESS, STRATEGY AND VISION

    • Hold the customer at the center, while simultaneously supporting our brand, executing company strategy and promoting cultural values.
    • Influence effectively towards desired outcomes across functions and with senior leaders and collaborate with cross functional partners to execute.
    • Lead omni-channel multi-million sales volume - full-price and off-price, within a multi-site and global environment.
    • Expertise in P&L responsibilities including strong analytical skills.
    • Partner with leaders and teams across the organization in order to achieve and/or exceed budget while developing an in-store experience that exceeds customer expectations.
    • Define and drive organizational goals through the appropriate KPI’s, including:  Conversion, Payroll as a % of Sales, Sales per FTE, Comp Store Sales, 4 Wall Contribution, etc.
    • Model the way for proactive collaboration, and champion what is best for DTC, while considering the brand as a whole. 
    • React to current business trends, and lead discussion that helps move the business forward working within the company culture.
    • Partner on the articulation of a roadmap which will inspire the Brick and Mortar (B&M) organization to achieve positive results.
    • Lead the evolution of stores in their geographic market/location.  Strive towards exclusivity in product, experience and storytelling.
    • Understand the competitive environment and identify ideas to incorporate into strategy and approach that align with the Eileen Fisher Brand.
    • Participate in Real Estate meetings - understanding key markets and representing the field.
    • Participate in weekly DTC meetings, sharing the voice of the stores.

    LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

    • Coach, mentor, develop and motivate employees at all levels to achieve peak performance and growth.
    • Develop cross-functional teams (Product, Leadership, Visuals, Clientelling, Succession planning) to hold work that takes DTC forward.
    • Practice a growth mindset and mentor/coach teams to do the same. 
    • Actively mentor and develop District Leaders to become an exceptional team of exceptional individuals.
    • Be a talent champion focusing on inclusivity and diversity and building a strong talent pipeline through succession planning and growth opportunities.
    • Challenge team to continuously move the business forward through innovation, and a forward-thinking mindset.
    • Understand and utilize the Brand lens as a filter for all actions, contributions and communications.
    • Must be confident and comfortable presenting to groups of various sizes and leading meetings.
    • Spend quality time in stores with District Leaders, Store Leaders, Store Associates and Customers. Fostering our company culture in the field and leading by example.
    • Strive for a joyful atmosphere in stores and ensure that recognition and appreciation are embedded in leadership actions.

    CLIENT ENGAGEMENT

    • Lead the efforts to attract, engage and retain customers at the store level, developing store capacity to execute plans that are compelling and on brand.
    • Create compelling customer experiences and storytelling moments.
    • Ability to be the face of the Brand to customers, and the face of Leadership to field teams.
    • Build an entrepreneurial environment while establishing best practices that align with our brand.
    • Listen to and engage customers to share insights.
    • Identify key opportunities around product assortment by knowing your customer and understanding what feedback from stores is essential to be shared with Retail Partners.
    • Ensure that all internal tools are being utilized consistently in all stores to ensure follow up with each customer in a manner that feels genuine and authentic to EILEEN FISHER.

    OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE 

    • Leverage knowledge and understanding of retail technology and systems to take DTC into the future of retail.
    • Ensure compliance of all systems and procedures with regards to inventory 
    • Partner closely with Store Operations and IT to ensure that operations and systems support positive customer interactions.
    • Develop and maintain a plan to encourage the sharing of best practices and consistency across all districts.
    • Collaborate with P&C Partners (HR/OD), Payroll and Store Operations while adhering to and following all company policies and procedures.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred; may be offset by experience.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE MUST POSSESS A REVENUE AND PROFIT-MAKING ORIENTATION IN ADDITION TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • 10+ years of retail experience including leadership, in an apparel setting preferred. 
    • Possess excellent strategic leadership, partnership and organization skills and the ability to empower others and affect change.
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies.
    • Possess the ability to identify opportunities around product needs to best support the needs of the district and business as a whole.
    • Dedicated to providing an excellent customer experience, promoting quality service among your teams through training and serving as a positive role model.
    • Possess the ability to see view each store through a visual merchandising eye.
    • Possess the ability to work remotely and also to balance the ability to work independently while also being a part of a team.
    • Passionate about nurturing a positive and supportive work environment.
    • Possess openness to experience our Brand and product, stylishly wardrobing self and customers.
    • Standing required for an entire work shift, bending, twisting, climbing long and short ladders.
    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. at floor level and/or team lift when necessary.

    Work Schedule:  Full Time, including evenings and weekends, according to schedule; Extensive Travel Required

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 3-5 years of work experience of professional experience or a Master’s Degree with 1-2 years of professional experience. Preferred experience working with a supporting underrepresented populations, and deep commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion goals.
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to handle the demands of a fast-paced, multi-faceted, changing environment
