  • Responsibilities

    A privately held, growing, profitable full-service process engineering firm seeks an impact player and difference maker to join our team as an Accounting Associate. The Accounting Associate will assist in planning accounting activities and finance division of SPEC by performing the following duties, personally and through subordinate supervisors. Also provides support to human resources department.

    • Assists in managing payables and receivables.
    • Communicates with vendors and customers regarding payables and
    • Updates and runs weekly reports to submit to management
    • Assists in administering
    • Assists in carrying out goals of the Accounting
    • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial
    • Organizes financial statements to submit to management
    • Assists in managing 401k
    • Assists in preparing tax statements and gathering filing
    • Receives invoices and payments in Quick Books
    • Creates and updates spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel in order to properly track accounting information within customer projects

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 7 years of experience

     

  • Qualifications
    • Possess geo-political knowledge of Southwest Asia, specifically Afghanistan.
    • Possess detailed knowledge of and prior work experience and work relationships with the Afghanistan Ministry of Interior personnel and Deputy Ministry of Counter Narcotics personnel.
    • Possess Active SECRET clearance along with a valid US passport.
    • Organize and properly prioritize work assignments and function well in an environment that requires constant multi-tasking.
    • Excellent written, oral, briefing, interpersonal and technical skills.
    • Fluency in a foreign language is preferred, but not required.
    • Qualified candidates must possess experience managing deployed operations in CENTCOM AOR, particularly Afghanistan, in support of US Government.
    • Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and experience in managing Local National (LN) workforce, geo-political climate in Afghanistan, and translator/linguist or intelligence support services.
