We can handle every aspect of a client’s foreign payment needs, from risk consultation to transaction execution.

     

    We are currently hiring a Business Development Specialist to work in our office in Sydney.

    As a Business Development Specialist in the Sydney Sales Team, you will be working with leaders in the industry who have a wealth of experience. Your primary responsibility will be prospecting new business opportunities for AFEX within a defined jurisdiction as part of the AFEX business development team.

     

    The Business Development specialists will also work alongside marketing on project driven campaigns and will be responsible for initial market research within the SME business sector, as part of a multi-pronged outreach approach with the goal of establishing new business leads for foreign exchange solutions.

     

    The ability to communicate, research and qualify prospective clients, as well as demonstrate the use of sales and marketing skills with prospective companies over the phone is essential to success in this position.

     

    As a Business Development Specialist, you can look forward to:

    • Securing leads by identifying and qualifying sales opportunities and passing them to inside and/or outside sales teams
    • Producing qualified prospects by following up on leads from various marketing programs, or conducting outbound, proactive calling to target accounts or markets, partnering with Fiserv Client Partners and Account Execs
    • Maintaining strong knowledge of the organization's products and/or services, and build interest by understanding the needs of the customer and offering appropriate solutions
    • You may assist in the development of lead nurture programs and customer content strategies
    • Documenting outbound/inbound activity and maintain client accounts in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and other marketing databases
    • Working closely with marketing and sales teams
    • Performing complex tasks and completes assignments with little or no assistance
    • Assisting in large scale outbound marketing presentations

     

    ACCOUNTABILITY:

     

    • Reports to Sydney Sales Manager
    • Accountable to monthly targets set by the Sales Manager.
    • Accountable to supply excellent customer service and competent knowledge of AFEX products and services.
    • Accountable to follow requisite compliance procedures during business development activities with prospective clients.
    • Accountable to fellow staff members, and work in coordination to support AFEX as a whole.

     

     

     

    Required Skills

    EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

     

    This role is for someone who has strong communication skills and has a customer service background.

    Whilst financial services experience is highly regarded, it is not essential.

    Working as part of the sales team, you will be comfortable speaking on the phone with C-level executives. In addition, be someone who is looking for an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your suggestions and recommendations are valued in a team-based setting.

    This role would suit someone who has a good understanding of the finance industry and is looking for an entry level Business Development position with scope for future development for the right person.

     

    • Substantiated interest in AFEX services and products, the foreign exchange markets and the SME business sector.
    • Previous outbound business-to-business phone marketing or sales experience.
    • Ability to navigate corporate structures to identify decision makers.
    • High degree of self-motivation and focus, combined with effective organizational and time management skills.
    • Professional approach to prospective clients coupled with active listening skills and an inquisitive nature.
    • The ability to work as a team player towards a specific sales goal.
    • Well versed in the usage of CRM systems.
