    SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for two (2) Software Engineers I to support Navy, Air Force and Homeland Defense Over-The-Horizon Radar (OTHR) and other programs in Government and Business Solutions (GBS).



    Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Works under the direct technical supervision of experienced senior personnel for daily and weekly tasks.
    • Under the direction of senior personnel, analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
    • Support the plans, steps and time tables for developing programs as directed by senior personnel and the Project Manager.
    • Participate in client meetings to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
    • Participate in the development of software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
    • Support the evaluation of software and hardware to support development or utilization within a system.
    • Programming in MATLAB and Python, Windows and Linux environments, as well as software development.

    Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

    · Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related scientific discipline.

    • Zero (0)+ years of experience in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and/or other object-oriented languages.

    · Demonstrated software development using one or more of these languages under the Unix, Windows, Linux, and/or MS-DOS operating systems.

    • QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or related field with 12 ECE credits, preferred

    OR

    * Current center-based preschool CDA with 12 ECE credits, and enrolled in a program that will lead to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field to be completed within three years of the time of hire.
    * Staff with an Associate’s Degree will be working on Bachelor’s degree
    * Have access to reliable, insured transportation.
    * Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, child CPR, and medication administration certification.
    * Provide a TVCCA Staff Statement of Good Health statement signed by a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner completed within twelve (12) months before the date of employment, and every twenty-four (24) months for current staff.
    * Provide a written report of negative tuberculin test completed within twelve (12) months prior to the date of employment, or for a known prior reactor, no evidence of active tuberculosis on a chest x-ray.
    

    Must have or obtain and maintain CT child care first-aid, and infant and child CPR, and medication administration certification.

    • Have the credentials to obtain a Connecticut Head Teacher License from the Department of Public Health.

    • Be able to work 35-37 hours/week, 52 weeks/year.
    • The TVCCA Little Learners Early Education Program requires staff to be available from 7:00AM – 5:00PM to cover center operational hours on a rotational basis.
    • Continue professional development per funding source requirements.
    • Strong Computer and ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, staff and volunteers
