    GRAY WEST CONSTRUCTION IS CURRENTLY LOOKING TO ADD RELIABLE EXPERIENCED CARPENTERS IN OUR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, SACRAMENTO LOCATION - WITH PROJECTS THROUGHOUT NORCAL AND SURROUNDING BAY AREA.

     

    SUMMARY Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes, by performing the following duties.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Required Skills

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Studies blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.

     

    Selects specified type of lumber or other materials.

     

    Prepares layout, with the use of sight levels and laser, from established control points. In some cases, may be required to install/verify control points.

     

    Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.

     

    Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.

     

    Verifies trueness of structure with plumb bob and carpenter's level.

     

    Erects framework for structures.

     

    Performs work in accordance with industry and company standards.

     

    Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.

     

    Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.

     

    Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures.

     

    Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.

     

    Work on top of ladders, and the top beams of buildings.

     

    Check work along the way to ensure it's up to code and specifications.

     

    Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.

     

     

    Required Experience

    Experienced Finish Carpenter

     

    All Around Carpenter

     

    Experience in Restaurant and /or Retail Construction and Open Store Remodels is required. 

     

    Prospective applicants with a professional attitude, detail oriented and quality workmanship have an opportunity to advance.

     

    Must have flexibility to work days or nights.
