    Cambridge International Systems has a career opportunity for a Senior CAD Drafter to join our team in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates must possess an ACTIVE Top Secret Security clearance.  

    The CAD Draftsman will provide drafting/CAD Operations functions in support of multiple DoD networking, facilities, and infrastructure projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work in conjunction with Principal Designers and Engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
    • Prepare complete sets of complex drawings which include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings; drawings include complex design features that require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray
    • Work from sketches, models, and verbal information supplied by an engineer, architect, or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments
    • Select required information from precedents, manufacturers' catalogs, specifications, and technical guides
    • May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a technical assistant for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project
    • Provide support in defining and developing detailed calculations, drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
    • Support the verification of the design specifications and assure accuracy of red-lined drawings upon project completion
    • Assist in the preparation of drawings and technical specifications for final presentation to the customer
    • Develop, review and update Installation Design Packages (IDPs) for 30%, 60%, 90% and final design reviews in accordance with the NIWC Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH)
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of office drafting and engineering standards, including but not limited to office policies, guidelines, technical instructions, standards, etc.
    • Support client reviews of drawings, design and installation packages, technical reports, and detailed analyses
    • Provide support for other engineering activities as required
    • Assist in the training and mentoring of team members in the use of AutoCAD per required standards and processes

     

     

     

    Required Skills

    • Skilled in the use of AutoCAD, specifically NIWC SIPH drawing standards
    • Proficient in the use of Adobe PRO for document preparation
    • Experienced working with Engineers, Architects, and Technicians

     

     

    Required Experience

    • An Associate degree or related technical certification
    • 7+ years of experience in Autodesk AutoCAD 2013 or later
    • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team
    • Must possess Professional AutoCAD Certification
    • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance. Candidates without the necessary clearance will not be considered.
