    KEY DELIVERABLES:

    • HCP/NCCP/ITP permitting and compliance with Threatened and Endangered (T&E) species regulations
    • T&E avoidance plans, Lake and Streambed Alteration (LSA) and familiarity of requirements of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)
    • Other CEQA permitting and advising
    • Ensure compliance with Kern County EIR regulations
    • Bureau of Land Management (BLM) permitting
    • Potential assignments include managing projects or assembling/analyzing data for permitting or compliance for the following topics: endangered species, well stimulation treatments, water/waste streams, groundwater regulations, Kern County regulations, underground injection control, air quality, emergency response and spill prevention and general land use permitting.

     

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure compliance with T&E species regulations
    • Work with Development design team members to develop mitigation plans, if needed
    • Coordinate Take Projects (those requiring a take permit):
    • Work with contract biologist to coordinate T&E species surveys & conservation projects
    • Ensure/audit compliance with take permit conditions
    • Coordinate Avoidance Projects (those that can be managed with avoidance measures):
    • Ensure/audit compliance with avoidance plans during construction
    • Conduct incident investigations (related to environmental compliance) and assist teams in developing effective corrective actions
    • Work with key contractors/suppliers to set environmental compliance expectations throughout project implementation and to deliver process improvements Provide technical, regulatory and compliance support or guidance to Operations, Development, Legal and Business support customers on above topics
    • Assist members of other teams (Environment, Air Quality, Health & Safety, Process Safety Management) to assemble products, reports, permits or recommendations for projects they are coordinating
    • Assist Government Affairs or Public Affairs staff on aspects of permitting or regulations that impact their business

    • Able to periodically work in an outdoor field environment
    • Able to wear personal protective equipment when required

    • Understanding of the oil and gas production business
    • Provide structure and clarity to complex/ambiguous situations
    • Ability to develop, implement, and document processes
    • Ability to apply environmental principles as required for job
