    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    The Sr. Financial Analyst-Procurement provides analytical, qualitative and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance Procurement processes for financially sound and progressive decision making. An expert in procurement metrics and the connectivity to supply chain success through development and utilization of BI tools. Performs complex bid analysis and financial modeling analysis pertaining to the company’s spend, supply partnerships, and new opportunities. This position will be required to recommend multiple solutions/options based on data interpretation, gap analysis, and in-depth understanding of dependencies and potential obstacles within the Procurement department. This role will design, deploy and support reporting and analysis of projects (inclusive of the contract bid projects), deliverables, and ongoing ability to measure success for the department. This position will be responsible for working across multiple functions and levels (internal and external), to ensure success for the organization.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

     

    • Extract data from multiple sources, develop queries, programs and systems to promote and enhance solid data/fact-based Procurement decision making. Advanced ability to create analytics from very little available information (data mining across multiple systems)
    • Conducts analysis and research in such areas as financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital and investments within the Procurement department
    • Perform complex bid analysis, forecasts, and analyzes trends in the procurement, manufacturing, sales, finance, and other related areas
    • Develop and manage BI tools, inclusive of “what if” analytics
    • Participates in the formulation of financial modeling and analysis for the Procurement department
    • Data interpretation, gap analysis, development of “white paper” for recommended solutions
    • Develop and maintain BI Tool and Form/Document for multi-dimensional KPI’s for suppliers based on providing ability to collect data, to assemble data, weight and analyze performance, and create reports to reflect performance with charts and graphs
    • Create cost savings analysis based on Charter process for measuring and reporting by period – actuals vs estimates, and forward-looking estimates, to be shared with Executive Team
    • Lead and/or support structured project management process
    • Compile and present Executive level reporting and Power Point presentations
    • Assist in development and documentation of Procurement process flows, Policies & Procedures, including cross functional impacts to our Procurement process
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Knowledge of leading best practices
    • Strong understanding of forecasting and inventory principles

    Required Experience

     

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

     

    • 3-5 years’ of financial analysis experience supporting the Procurement field
    • JDE Experience a plus
    • Agricultural / food production industry manufacturing experience is preferred
    • BA/BS Degree Finance/Accounting/Economics
    • MBA a plus
