    GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

     

    This is a vendor management inventory (VMI) role reporting to the Supervisor of VMI.  This role analyzes data from Dole customer warehouse/shipping and store fills to create orders for our Dole customers with a goal of keeping our customers in stock, with minimum safety stock and shrink.  It is an extended service role requiring collaborative relationship with our customer buyers and our internal teams.

     

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

     

    • Utilize customer supplied inventory and transactional data to develop and manage VMI replenishment plans that result in optimized case from customer DC to stores
    • Develop Store Pull projection models which accurately forecast daily pulls by SKU out of each assigned customer DC
    • Develop and manage aggregate item forecasts for planners and schedulers to successfully support accounts
    • Manage and maintain close business relations with customers assigned sufficient to satisfy expectations of their VMI relationship with Dole
    • Maintain an awareness of customer’s current activities such as: new item launches, discontinued products, new product development, price changes and promotional / AD activities
    • Responsible for effectively communicating all information pertaining to the customer with all parties involved: team members, transportation, sales, operations, demand planning, etc…
    • Manage inventory levels and flow within each customer DC so as to minimize product losses due to age
    • Maintain ongoing knowledge of inventory levels, age of inventory and issues affecting inventory levels
    • Accountable for managing all customer related information needed to perform job functions effectively by utilizing tools provided via system and or hard copy.
    • Accountable to adhering to all guidelines, processes and procedures outlined in department standard operating procedures for Customer Service as well as Full Solution Services (FSS) / VMI specific processes
    • Actively participate in the training process for fellow associates as needed. Share best practices by voluntarily maintaining a consistent flow of information regarding customer strategies to Dole team members
    • Expected to maintain a high accuracy level in regards to data entry and communication of all kinds.
    • Maintain and accept position as primary point of contact for all issues relating to the VMI customer relationship for assigned accounts and DCs
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    • Must have experience in business ERP systems as well as demonstrate an ability to navigate fluently within Microsoft tools, i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
    • Good communication skills (both verbal and written); presentation experience a plus
    • Highly organized, self-motivated and self-directed and think and act independently while also being team oriented.
    • Effective time management skills with the ability to multi-task while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
    • Ability to understand components of customer strategies and business plans and how Dole VMI programs are able to satisfy those strategies.
    • Consistently exhibit the aptitude to maintain focus while managing personal workload efficiently and effectively in an ever-changing environment.
    • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, fast paced, sales driven environment.
    • Ability to plan and execute assignments to completion with minimal supervision.

    Required Experience

     

    _EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:  _

     

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in same or similar position.
    • BA Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • A writing sample, in the form of a 90-day plan, will be required for all candidates selected for an interview
