    Cambridge International Systems has an exciting opportunity for an experienced INSIDE PLANT (ISP)/OUTSIDE PLANT (OSP) DESIGN/PROJECT ENGINEER to join our team in CHARLESTON, SC.  Qualified candidates will have design engineering experience as well as implementing systems including Physical and Logical Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Networking Monitoring, CCTV, and Perimeter Protection, Audio Visual, and Networking. You will participate in Engineering Quality Assurance and Quality Control peer reviews and constant capabilities development to ensure implementation of quality systems. In addition, you will coordinate with other disciplines and interface directly with the project manager and the customer. AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION, TS PREFERRED. 

    TASK DESCRIPTION

    • Performing site surveys and data analysis, systems verification and validation testing including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Pre-Installation and Test Check-Out (PITCO), and System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT).
    • Developing Installation Design Plans (IDP) in AutoCAD and REVIT 2018 or later.
    • Primary point of contact to resolve technical design issues from customers (internal and external) before, during and after installations.
    • Ability to use SysML to facilitate Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) requirements.
    • Designing ISP/OSP architecture for ISP, OSP, LAN and WAN topologies for audio visual, communications, and security systems including switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Assist in mentoring junior engineers.
    • Supporting proposal efforts by researching and recommending quality equipment, systems, and standards.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • 8-10 years of experience with a BS degree in Engineering or CS-ABET Accredited Program Certification.
    • 6-8 years of experience with a MS/MA degree in Engineering or CS-ABET Accredited Program Certification.
    • 3-5 years of experience with a PH.D. of in Engineering or CS-ABET Accredited Program Certification.
    • 5+ years of experience in design engineering role, consulting engineering preferred, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of ISP/OSP, communications, audio visual, networking, and electrical facility projects.
    • Working knowledge of design software, to include: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and MS Office.
    • 5+ years of experience conducting onsite installations at DOD facilities.
    • BICSI Certification for Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD).
    • Requires an understanding and working knowledge of industry standards including sections of NEC, NFPA 101, ICD 705, NISPOM, Navy SIPH, DISA APL, etc.
    • Must have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
    • MUST HAVE A MINIMUM ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.
    • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time both CONUS and OCONUS. Must have valid passport.
    • Attention to detail - reviews work, has little errors and strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
    • Ability to plan, assign, direct and review the work of subordinates and provide instruction in a manner conducive to improve performance and morale.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • DoD Approved Baseline IAT Certifications: Security+, Network+, CISSP.
    • Experience with BIM model development and producing, reviewing, and publishing construction and fabrication shop drawings based on the coordinated model. engineering design, specifications, and materials and equipment submittals to meet the project needs.
    • Ability to use SysML to facilitate Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) requirements.
