    As an Instructor with our retreats and conferences program, you will help adults and students reconnect with one another, explore the outdoors, celebrate their successes, and support their social-emotional learning growth while engaging in a fun day or overnight camp experience.

    What You’ll Do

    • Facilitate outdoor/camp activities with a Core Value lens: climbing, archery, fire building, kayaking, nature, team-building, etc. Training is provided!

    • Create a safe, inclusive environment and model 4-H values

    • Work closely with a collaborative team

    What We Provide

    • No Cost On-site housing (water, electric, A/C, Heat, & furnished)

    • $84 per day within a 5 day standard work week

    • Meals when the dining hall is open for guests

    • Access to activities within your training when not on duty

    Training & Growth

    • Provided certifications (CPR, First Aid, plus optional specialty trainings)

    • Technical outdoor skills: ropes, lifeguarding, target sports, and facilitation

    • Weekly professional development + mentorship

    • Resume-building leadership & teaching experience

    Work Environment

    • Beautiful outdoor setting: Flint Hills Prairie, trails, river front, lake/pond, camp environment

    • Seasonal structure great for students & travelers

    Requirements

    • 18 years of age or older

    • Availability of 5 days a week with overnights

    • Team-oriented and adaptable

    • Willing to complete required certifications (provided)

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment.

    Dates of Employment:

    This is a seasonal, full-time position. Positions are available during the Spring (early April - early June), available to transition to being a camp counselor during the summer, and Fall (late August-early December). Instructors are encouraged and welcome to apply for our summer camp team!
