  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Your day-to-day

    • Working on projects that focus on energy market and infrastructure economic analysis and projections, capital markets and strategy, litigation support, risk management, and policy and regulatory challenges and opportunities facing energy firms and other stakeholders.
    • Typically, new joiners to our team focus on a select set of workstreams initially before branching out into other workstreams and assignment management/client facing roles. Your initial role may include one or more of the following tasks:
    • Performing electricity and/or natural gas market modeling to project supply, demand, and pricing for a variety of energy-related products (e.g., electric energy, electric capacity, ancillary services, renewable energy credits and other environmental attributes, regional natural gas);
    • Performing asset-level dispatch or realized revenue modeling to project asset operations and margins;
    • Modeling electricity transmission systems and constraints, and their impacts on energy pricing and reliability;
    • Projecting electricity and/or natural gas demand to inform rigorous market modeling assumptions; and/or
    • Leveraging advanced data analytics to evaluate utility performance relative to key quantitative metrics.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Masters’ degree with studies in economics, finance, engineering, energy, commodities, risk management, or a related quantitative analytics-focused field
    • Ability to perform economic, financial, and spreadsheet analysis
    • Big picture thinking with the desire to contribute to a positive team environment and exceed client expectations
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills (particularly strong Excel skills, with working Word and PowerPoint skills).
    • Familiarity with statistics and computer programming languages (e.g., Python, Visual Basic, C#) are a plus
    • Past experience and familiarity with the energy industry is a plus
    • Willingness to travel locally/nationally as needed

    In compliance with Colorado’s, New York & Massachusetts's Equal Pay Transparency Act, PA is required to provide a reasonable salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the State of Colorado and is commensurate with experience, market data, applicant skills, internal equity and/or degrees/certifications. Salary Range: Low: $ 82,000 - 143,700
