The Campus Patrol Officer of Patria Church must be an alert and dependable individual who supports the safety of Patria Church, United Christian Academy (UCA), and Abundant Preschool of Learning (APL). The individual must demonstrate strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to observe, document, and report concerns accurately. The Campus Patrol Officer must be able to appropriately apply basic safety and response principles in a variety of situations and use sound judgment when determining the need to notify law enforcement and report incidents to the Security Director and Executive Leadership. Campus Patrol Officers provide a visible, professional presence that helps deter unsafe behavior and supports a sense of security across all campus areas. The individual oversees and monitors access to buildings and facilities to ensure entry points remain secure and that all individuals on campus are appropriately identified or authorized. The Campus Patrol Officer actively patrols buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, and parking lots; secures doors, gates, and windows; and monitors all persons entering or exiting the campus. Officers must remain fully engaged during both high-traffic and quiet hours and must be responsive to all radio and phone communication while on duty. Campus Patrol Officers are required to complete incident logs and reports accurately and ensure that safety concerns and incidents are communicated through the proper reporting channels. Campus Patrol Officers serve as a visible point of safety on campus, helping set the tone for a calm, orderly, and welcoming environment through their conduct and presence. The individual must communicate respectfully with students, families, staff, and guests and maintain a professional and ministry-minded presence in every interaction. Work Schedule and Daily Rhythm
Campus Patrol Officers maintain active security coverage by patrolling buildings, classrooms, playgrounds, and parking areas throughout each shift. During ministry nights, school operations, VBS, SPRINTS, graduations, and conferences, officers support crowd flow, building access, and overall campus safety. When campus activity is low, officers prioritize property protection through facility checks, alarm monitoring, and securing doors, gates, and equipment. Officers respond promptly to radio and phone communication, assist staff and guests, and document incidents or maintenance needs to ensure all concerns are routed through the proper channels. Campus Patrol Officers must be available and willing to work any of the listed shifts, including weekdays, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Shift assignments are determined by operational needs and may change as staffing or ministry demands require. Specific shift assignments cannot be guaranteed.
Shifts Included in This Role:
• Swing Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
• Graveyard Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:30 AM
• Weekend Shifts: Saturday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
All full-time officers are expected to support coverage across these shifts to ensure consistent campus safety and departmental reliability.

Safety Monitoring:
Actively patrols Patria Church, UCA, and APL buildings, classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, parking lots, and public areas.
Secures and monitors doors, windows, gates, and access points during opening and closing procedures.
Observes all individuals entering or exiting campus and reports unauthorized access immediately.
Maintains full situational awareness at all times, monitoring both open and low-visibility areas for safety concerns.
Conducts regular checks for hazards, facility issues, or unusual activity and reports concerns promptly.
Follows access and safety procedures using calm, non-confrontational communication.
Planning, Scheduling & Platform Management:
Builds and manages social media calendars, posting schedules, and campaign timelines. Using planning tools such as Meta Business Suite, Planoly, Trello, or similar scheduling platforms.
Posts content at strategic times for highest engagement and reach.
Coordinates weekly content needs with ministry departments to ensure timely communication. Before events, registrations, and major services.
Tracks post performance, engagement, reach, and effectiveness using analytics tools to improve future content.
Stays current on social media trends, new features, and emerging platforms to strengthen digital engagement.
Incident Response & Safety Protocols:
Responds to concerns using professional, non-escalatory communication and sound safety practices.
Remains calm and avoids escalating or confronting individuals aggressively.
Calls law enforcement when refusal, conflict, or danger is present and reports the incident to the Security Director and Executive Leadership.
Uses radios and communication systems according to established protocols.
Maintains visual awareness of the individual involved until additional support arrives.
Completes incident reports and shift logs accurately and on time.
Follows emergency procedures for lockdowns, evacuations, and medical responses.
School, Church & Event Support:
Supports UCA and APL during drop-off, dismissal, recess, chapel, and after-school activities.
Assists with safety needs during services, VBS, SPRINTS, conferences, graduations, and other ministry events.
Monitors entrances, exits, and crowd flow to help maintain a safe environment.
Provides escort assistance for staff, volunteers, students, and guests as needed.
Offers directions and assistance to families and visitors with courtesy and professionalism.
Safety, Compliance & Professional Standards:
Follows all campus safety procedures, access protocols, and reporting expectations.
Identifies and reports maintenance issues or unsafe conditions immediately.
Remains alert and engaged throughout the shift; sleeping, scrolling, or disengagement is not permitted.

Supports a safe environment for students, families, staff, volunteers, and guests.

Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in security, campus safety, customer service, or protective services preferred.
Experience in school, church, or public-facing environments preferred.
Valid California driver’s license required, as officers must operate golf carts and other campus vehicles.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain within an established timeframe.
If not in possession of a valid California Guard Card at hire, must obtain one within 90 days of employment.
If not already a member of Patria Church, must be able to complete Growth Track within 90 days of employment.

Organizational and Spiritual Requirements

Pastors are required to attend all regularly scheduled Sunday and Wednesday church services. Support staff must attend at least one (1) regularly scheduled weekend church service.
Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
Regular involvement in Patria Church activities, ministries, neighborhood groups, and events.
Tithe 10% to the Patria Church.
