  • Responsibilities

    Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' Merchant-and Network-related businesses including Global Merchant Services, Global Network Services, and Strategic Partnerships. Global Merchant Services is responsible for maintaining the relationships with the millions of Merchants, Global, National and Regional, that accept American Express, as well as through our third party acquirers and aggregator partners. Our goal is to be an indispensable payments partner to our Merchants: simultaneously delivering differentiated products and services and driving revenue growth for both Merchants and American Express.

    What type of work can you expect to do in Marketing at American Express?

    • Analyze internal and external data and realize growth opportunities to help businesses improve performance and drive growth

    • Develop understanding of how our business functions and how it might best be served using new and emerging digital products and/or services.

    • Analyze performance indicators to better understand customer behavior

    • Develop cost-benefit analyses to resolve feasibility of new opportunities

    • Develop relationships with a variety of internal and external partners

    • Share and leverage standard processes and provide consultancy to team

    • Lead end-to-end marketing initiatives or other customer-focused initiatives; develop and implement tests to measure efficiency

    • Find innovative ways to improve the customer experience and/or marketing channel performance

    Skills/Experience

    • Passion for customer marketing, payments innovation, travel industry and new technology trends

    • Ability to conceptualize and sell ideas

    • Independent thinker who’s organized, has phenomenal attention to detail, and can multi-task

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving/quantitative skills

    • Willing to try new things and share fresh perspectives

    • Be proficient with analytical and presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in full-time bachelor’s degree program

    • Students must have a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
