    The Retail Visual Merchandiser plays a key role in bringing Canna Cabana’s recreational cannabis strategy to life in our retail stores.

    In partnership with senior management, the Retail Visual Merchandiser be responsible for developing & activating in-store marketing and merchandising plans that are relevant to our customers and capture their imagination, passion & loyalty.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary responsibilities of the Retail Merchandiser include, but not limited to, are:

    • Champion the culture of High Tide and ensure a positive work environment, with a start-up mentality
    • Work in a cross functional capacity to bring High Tide’s retail brand plans to life while also assessing new areas of opportunity through consumer knowledge, retailing landscape, competitor activities, products and markets
    • Brainstorm new and innovative in-store and customer growth strategies
    • Contribute to the in-store marketing planning for future promotions
    • Determine retail marketing objectives and strategies to ensure organizational goals are met or exceeded
    • Optimize category profitability by developing and implementing a Visual Merchandising strategy, based on, but not limited to:  Product Development, Product Marketing, Operations and Store Merchandising
    • Create national merchandising planograms and visual directives for all store formats including BAU, Seasonal, Retail Calendar activities, merchandise displays & major store refreshes
    • Gather category insights from Field Sales and Sales Support
    • Assist with the creation & implementation of merchandising guiding principles for Canna Cabana stores
    • Provide support to store teams in the execution & presentation of an outstanding store environment
    • Collaborate with the digital marketing team, marketing team and regional managers, to ensure national campaigns are fully integrated & executed with 100% compliancy
    • Develop relationships and programs with key stakeholders (Licensed Producers, brands and suppliers) to support in-store marketing and merchandising portfolios
    • Responsible for administrative support of all retail marketing activities, including calendar execution, internal communications, material sourcing
    • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report on progress periodically
    • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and municipal regulations, from a retail marketing perspective
    • Perform other functions pertinent to the role as requested by the Marketing Manager

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills & Experience

    • Minimum 5 years progressive leadership experience in retail merchandising
    • Knowledge of the Cannabis industry (or similar regulated industry) is an asset
    • Dynamic, energetic & results-driven with a sense of urgency. Action orientated.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to superb execution
    • Creative & courageous, with the ability to manage in an environment of change & ambiguity to help us take bold, strategic moves in this rapidly evolving retail environment
    • Outstanding people management skills, with the ability communicate and influence up, down and across the organization
    • Excellent judgment in decision-making, problem solving, and ability to clearly explain your perspective to others
    • Works well in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment where initiative, leadership & flexibility are drivers for success
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with a passion for brands
    • Knowledge of the Adobe suite, and InDesign is considered an asset but not a requirement
    • Successfully builds and maintains relationships in a collaborative team environment
    • Passionate and enthusiastic to be part of the foundational team that will drive the new Cannabis industry

    Working Environment & Travel

    • Travel across Canada should be expected on occasion. Maximum of 10% of time.
    • Travel within the province you are based in will be more frequent

    Required Education and Experience

    • University degree in marketing, retail, merchandising or a related field
