We are currently seeking a Chief Operating Officer for a vertically integrated cannabis company, headquartered in Southern New Jersey, to oversee the organization’s ongoing operations and procedures.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for designing and implementing diverse business strategies, plans, and procedures. The COO will establish and update all operational policies and procedures to ensure the Company is efficient and effective in achieving all business goals, company vision, and company culture. The COO acts as a liaison between the management team and the CEO.

We’re looking for an experienced and efficient leader who has experience managing diverse business operations including manufacturing, production, brand management, and retail. We’re looking for someone with excellent people skills, who values the importance of creating a culture where employees excel and feel valued.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interact seamlessly with the CEO and Founders to understand strategic priorities and creatively identify and execute plans to lead the company.
• Responsible for driving our company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight and management to all departments: Cultivation, Production, Processing, Branding, Finance, Community Outreach, Sustainability Practices.
• Design, implement, execute, and analyze business strategies, plans and procedures.
• Establish policies that promote company culture and vision.
• Develop and implement department budgets.
• Allocate the resources Department Heads need, such as funds, labor and equipment, to ensure they meet their goals.
• Conduct regular meetings with Department Heads to remain up to date on the status of each area of the company.
• Remain up to date on cannabis legislation.
• Build a solid network in the cannabis industry through attending networking events and educational events.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

• Masters of Business Administration (MBA)
• Project Management (PMP) Certification a plus
• 10+ years supply chain and/or manufacturing management experience in pharmaceutical, cannabis, or nutraceuticals
• Ability to grow and enhance the business through operational processes, employee and staff capabilities, and financial performance
• Preferred cannabis experience
• Experience building and managing teams
• Proven track record of strategic planning and driving revenue
• Excited about joining a startup culture and opportunity to shape the direction of an emerging industry
• Highly effective third-party vendor management
