    <p>Our client, a top Cannabis Cultivator in the Humboldt area, is seeking a Financial Controller to join their ever expanding team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller will be responsible for accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, financial risk management, and the development of internal company control policies and procedures. </p><p><strong>JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage all Accounting Department projects, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, production inventory accounting and revenue recognition</li><li>Develop internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and <em>credit</em> management, and administrative goals</li><li>Establish and maintain all financial controls with the Humboldt Farms Accounting Department</li><li>Coordinate and direct department budgets</li><li>Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards</li><li>Prepare and present financial reports and risk analysis to Humboldt Farms Executive Leadership</li><li>Manage and oversee the Humboldt Farms general ledger</li><li>Prepare and publish timely financial statements</li><li>Research technical accounting issues for compliance</li><li>Support month-end and year-end close processes</li><li>Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting</li><li>Monitor variances, summarize trends and investigate budget deficiencies</li><li>Develop and monitor business performance metrics</li><li>Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff (AP/Payroll Clerk & Finance Specialist)</li><li>Monitor and confirm financial condition of internal departments by conducting audits</li><li>Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective actions within Accounting or <em>Human</em> <em>Resources</em></li><li>Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions</li><li>Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential</li></ul><p><strong>EDUCATION AND REQUIRED SKILLS:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s in accounting or Business Administration</li><li>Advanced degree in Accounting, CPA or CMA preferred</li><li>Proven <em>working</em> <em>experience</em> as a Financial Controller (7+ years)</li><li>10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance <em>experience</em></li></ul><p><strong> COMPENSATION: </strong>$100,000</p><p>If this sounds like the position you have been waiting for, please apply using the online application or the link below - all inquiries are strictly confidential.
