Our client, a rapidly growing SaaS and HaaS company focused on extraction labs, is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join their team. The company has a strong focus on the following: lab excellence, interdisciplinary innovation and hardware agnosticism. This role will be responsible for all current and future equipment designs and will play an integral role in the company as they continue to scale and reach new clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Accountable for all current and future equipment designs
• Lead projects related to the evaluation / revision of current hardware components to optimize design for manufacture, design for safety, and design for serviceability
• Act as liaison between equipment partners, and manage these relationships from both the strategic and partnership perspectives
• Coordinate work of internal / external design engineers and CAD requirements
• Stay abreast of developing hardware technologies that may have application in future iterations of the extraction lab suite
• Propose and justify new / improved equipment designs aimed at overall operational efficiency. These may be internally developed components or those developed by strategic partners.
• Lead communications with potential and current manufacturers to support production of a product from design to market
• Contribute to innovation and IP portfolio
• Lead evaluation of primary and ancillary equipment options for use in the lab suite.
• Partner with R&D team and strategic partners to write new or change existing policies, SOPs, and work instructions
• Provide timely updates of project progress and completion to Exec Team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 7+ years of industry experience related to product design / product development. Experience in cannabis, extraction labs, or chemical processing labs a plus
• Experience in the use of sensors and data acquisition a plus
• Experience in leading successful projects
• Strong CAD skills (Solidworks, OnShape, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, etc…)
• Experience with vendor relationship initiation and management
• Highly motivated individual that thrives in collaborative environment
• Interested in working, and has experience(s) that would suggest potential for success, in a startup environment
• Demonstrated track record of growth in skills and contributions

Compensation: $105K plus benefits
