    Our client, a premium producer of top quality cannabis products, including transdermal patches, creams and sublingual tabs, is seeking an experienced VP of Sales for their cannabis product brand with proven success developing and leading sales teams within the state of California and Colorado.

    The VP of Sales will be a senior member of the corporate executive team, responsible for the growth of the company’s cannabis product sales and strategy.

    ** To be considered, you must be a proven cannabis sales leader with multiple existing purchasing contacts within the cannabis industry, and have a superior track record as a Sales Director, VP of Sales or Chief Revenue Officer, looking to direct the expansion of an early stage, technologically superior cannabis products company.

    The successful candidate will drive the company's achievement of customer acquisition and will lead the success in revenue goals, acting as a role model for company culture and an ambassador for recruiting talent. This position will be responsible for both the tactical and strategic leadership of the sales organization, working closely with the Executive Team on the business to plan and executing strategy.

    Job Duties and Key Responsibilities:

    • Establish key customer relationships within California and Colorado by developing and implementing sales and business development strategies to introduce and expand their product offerings.
    • Develop and establish compensation, training, and sales incentive programs that enable sales staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives.
    • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting, and compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions.
    • Develop and direct the required field sales organization, and assist in developing effective marketing platforms such as social media and other online reputation sites to help drive referrals.
    • Oversee the hiring and development of the sales organization, and responsible for the optimal deployment of sales personnel, including coverage models or team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity.
    • Create relationships with traditional retail channels and secure clients in that space.
    • Define optimal performance measurements and performance management programs required to ensure sales organization success, and align reporting, training, and incentive programs with these performance management priorities.
    • Design, implement and manage sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes to establish high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Must have existing purchasing contacts within the Cannabis industry within the state of California and/or Colorado.
    • Must reside in Southern California within the Orange County or Los Angeles areas.
    • Experience creating and operating a CRM sales pipeline management system overseeing multiple sales representatives.
    • Recent cannabis sales management experience, having successfully built, hired and led a geographically diverse team of early career and experienced professionals
    • Must have experience with securing product placement in retail settings, as well as white label and contract manufacturing opportunities.
    • Recent experience operating in an early stage company, with a demonstrated ability to wear multiple hats, respond to evolving demands and react to a constantly changing marketplace.
    • 7-10+ years in sales and 3-5+ years in sales management role.
    • A strong motivator and leader and ability to create a team that lives the company’s values.
    • Financial literacy at a level adequate to speak to the business needs of the industry.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

    Compensation: Competitive Salary plus a generous commission structure and equity participation.
