    Our client, a national cannabis holding company with multi-state operations, is seeking a General Manager for their California operations.

    This person will oversee the daily operations of a variety of holdings, including cultivation and retail, and will also be responsible for P&L for that specific territory. RETAIL OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE IS A MUST.

    In addition to operations management, this role will be in charge of managing and policing cross-department communication, meeting company client deliverables, and upholding key compliance functions.

    The ideal candidate will be organized, accountable, and have proven experience managing large-scale operations with a high attention to detail.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordination with Departmental Teams – Facilitate the operational flow across departments with production, retail, compliance, distribution, accounting and inventory divisions.
    • Be accountable for department growth, recommend software solutions & innovations, design SOPs, methods, policies & procedures to advance the department to ensure it meets the needs of the company.
    • Identify cost-effective strategies and efficiencies to improve the department. and maintain relationships both in and out of the organization.
    • Develop key objectives through long term strategic planning and tactical action to achieve goals.
    • Manage over employees and provide leadership and mentorship as needed.
    • Hire, train, and retain additional key management members to support and assist with labor planning, scheduling, along with the coordination of critical business functions, such as labor management, facility management, safety programs, and licensing compliance.
    • Manage both the revenue and cost elements of a company’s income statement
    • Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies and practices and coordinating actions with corporate staff.
    • Manage P&L and deliver on established targets
    • Develop business strategy, drive operational performance and process improvement
    • Build strong relationships with local and state level officials
    • Execute and develop short and long term financial strategies
    • Strong leadership skills in building and managing large scale teams and departments
    • Partner with sales and revenue teams to ensure sales and profitability goals are attained
    • Partner with regional compliance teams on state regulations within the cannabis industry
    • Develop and build strong collaborative community relationships with elected officials, regulators, community leaders and the medical community.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • A minimum of 10 + years of experience in business leadership inclusive of operations, finance, retail and or manufacturing
    • MBA preferred
    • Strong business and financial acumen managing budgets, KPI’s and capital expense
    • Experience leading and driving a brand or company in a highly regulated market
    • Exceptional people leadership skills including selecting, managing, developing and recognizing employees to optimize performance
    • Proven track record for building organizations and teams
    • Strong experience in operations, leading cross-functional teams across a multi-site organization
    • Strategic thinker and business driver
    • Ability to leverage operational efficiencies to drive improvements in sales and profitability
    • Strong communication, presentation, and organization skills
    • Startup experience preferred
    • Passion for the cannabis industry

    COMPENSATION: $200K + benefits + generous equity
