Our client, a premier cannabis company with a number of popular products, is searching for a Senior Financial Analyst. This person will be responsible for operations and strategy including analyses on topics ranging from tactical initiatives to long-term planning. Must be able to deliver data-driven insights.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on financial analyses related to the sales and distribution functions including evaluation of tactical programs, providing analytical support on annual and long-term planning, conducting investment scenario modeling, developing reporting to evaluate financial results, and identifying business risks and opportunities to improve margins
- Building financial models and turning data into actionable insights is your M.O.
- Maintain and monitor the P&L for the sales and distribution functions of the company, including monthly forecasting and conducting of root cause variance analyses across revenue and expense line items, and development of customer level financials
- Assist with the development of commission and bonus plans and regularly track and communicate performance against incentive targets
- Develop regular reporting such as weekly and monthly sales results, monthly P&Ls, bonus tracking, and performance against annual operating plan
- Conduct analysis on competitive data to assess market growth opportunities and inform strategic decision making
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting preferred
- 3+ years of relevant work experience; prior CPG experience is highly preferred
- Experience in investment banking
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with ERP and BI tools a plus
