    Our Client, a vertically integrated Cannabis Company is seeking a VP of Production to direct, manage, participate, and provide support to the design, activities, and operations of the cultivation and production division of the organization, including its cannabis cultivation, harvest, drying, curing, processing, packaging and fulfillment operations. The ideal VP of Production will combine analytical and technical knowledge, business skills and practical experience to grow business and achieve aggressive revenue goals.

     Job Responsibilities:

    • Oversees all aspects of farm operations and participates with the Executive team in critical development decisions including production and harvest plans, budgets, and labor management issues.
    • In conjunction with the cultivation team, develops and designs cultivation operations within allocated resources: budget, staffing and timeliness.
    • Executes on production plans and schedules, ensuring the production goals are met, that cultivation greenhouses are maintained in accordance with best-in-practice standards, and that facilities are turned around (cleaned and sanitized) efficiently.
    • Ensures that integrated pest management and irrigation procedures are executed and updated in accordance with company standards; ensures that environmental controls are maintained at appropriate settings to account for the life-cycle of the plants.
    • Sources best-of-class equipment, materials and procedures within allocated budget and develops workflow and greenhouse layout to minimize labor requirements and maximize crop yield.
    • In conjunction with the onsite management team, develops standard operating procedures, manages, and coordinates operations including daily activities, equipment acquisition, maintenance, training schedules, personnel, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensures timely and efficient harvests and the adherence to harvest schedules.
    • Overseas all of the client's post-harvest operations including drying, curing, bucking, trimming, and packaging functions; establishes and assigns KPIs for the above-referenced functions, and holds team members for performance against those standards.
    • Communicates values, strategies, and objectives; assign accountabilities; plans, monitors, and appraises job results; develops incentives, a climate for offering information and opinions, and provides educational opportunities to the management team.
    • Ensure labor cost objectives are met, improve productivity, efficiency and reduce labor cost.
    • Interacts regularly with the executive team and individual department heads to ensure that company’s operations priorities are aligned with total company direction.
    • Continually investigates and introduces process improvement measures and presents suggestions to CEO for consideration.
    • Participates in vendor negotiations to ensure product relevance and cost-efficiency.
    • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the farm operation.
    • Responsible for maintaining profit margins, according to established objectives and develops and maintains internal control systems to ensure accountability.
    • Weighs the costs and benefits of various options to determine the best course of action to achieve organization goals.

    Education and Required Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
    • At least 10 years of greenhouse industry management with proven ability to execute and supervise a production plan.
    • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.

      Compensation:  $200,000 plus relocation and benefits
