    Our client a vertically integrated cannabis company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team.  

    This position of Staff Accountant will maintain and execute a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax returns, general ledger entries, budgeting, forecasting, and bank reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of monthly financial analysis reports, developing and maintaining department budgets and generating cost reports.

    The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits, oversee financial reporting and operations and will be the first point of contact for accounting issues.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Process, prepare and report financial statements for several companies. Manage monthly financials, support month and year end close, and reconcile General Ledger accounts.
    • Financial statement preparation, review, analysis and distribution
    • Calculate and maintain fixed asset schedules
    • Process and prepare month and year end books for multiple entities
    • Voucher, review, and approve payables
    • Deposits review and approval
    • Daily cash activity and monthly bank reconciliations
    • Analyze underlying data for variances and/or discrepancies
    • Prepare journal entries, ensure processed correctly
    • Support Operations regarding accounting activity
    • Assist with annual budgets & tax preparation projects
    • Coordinate work flow & data accuracy between A/R, A/P, Job Cost, Legal, and leasing
    • Reconcile General Ledger
    • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned by leadership.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 2 to 3 years experience in audit accounting (preferred)
    • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S.)
    • Desire to continue to grow through continuing training
    • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
    • Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations
    • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
    • Sound independent judgement
    • BS degree in Accounting or Finance

    Compensation: $70,000 Plus Benefits
