    Our client, a leading diversified compliance company in the cannabis industry, is seeking a qualified Compliance Officer to help build a solid, stable and reliable compliance program.

    Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Compliance Officer will be an integral part of the corporate legal team, responsible for monitoring and tracking State cannabis rules and regulations.

    Responsibilities will include the creating and monitoring of internal controls, adherence to company policies, and preparing reports for management and regulatory agencies, requiring a detailed individual with the ability to travel. 

     

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist the Compliance Manager to build a compliance program for the company from the company perspective and the State level cannabis licensee.
    • Assist in identifying a compliance application to better control and organize the documents, compliance calendar and tract action points.
    • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
    • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
    • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
    • Draft, modify and implement company policies
    • Collaborate with Legal and HR to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
    • Coordinate efforts with State regulators to ensure our interpretations of the State rules are accurate and pragmatic.
    • Assist in assessing the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks
    • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
    • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
    • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
    • SOPs aim to achieve efficiency, quality output and to comply with industry regulations.

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • BS/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field
    • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
    • Familiar with SOP’s
    • Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
    • An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Experience working within a regulated industry
    • Previous cannabis industry experience preferred but not required

    SALARY RANGE: $60,000-80,000 Plus Medical Benefits
