Our client, a cannabis company located in Southern California, is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting.

This position will be directly responsible for managing the preparation of the required business filings, and will lead all stock-based compensation arrangements and administration of the company’s stock plan, and serve as the key liaison with their external audit firm.

This role will work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment, and will need to execute and follow-through to produce complete, accurate and timely deliverables.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 10K and 10Q Quarterly and Annual filings
• Maintain compliance with all GAAP requirements
• Manage corporate internal stock option program
• Prepare and produce periodic financial earnings releases
• Track and stay up to date on all required filings, including the audit and review schedules
• Act as liaison with external auditors for the preparation of financial statements and reporting needs
• Create, implement and maintain comprehensive accounting policy documents
• Implement and maintain financial reporting processes and procedures to comply with COSO and SOX 404
• Support the month-end closing process through preparation of journal entries and manage complex transactions

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA with 3+ years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm
• Experience with PCAOB auditing standards 
• 7+years of relevant professional experience
• Thorough knowledge of US GAAP rules and regulations (including XBRL) is required

COMPENSATION: $150K Plus Benefits
