Our client, a vertically integrated cannabis company with operations in California, Nevada and Oregon is seeking an Accounting Consultant to be based in Irvine, CA.

This accounting consultant will act as an Accounting Supervisor with no direct reports, however, s/he will collect pertinent information for third party audits, oversee financial reporting as well as operations to recommend and implement new accounting processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand the purpose of accounting and general ledger recording procedures
• Oversee daily transactions (e.g. accounts payable/receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations)
• Perform accounting procedures in accordance to standards and in an accurate, thorough and timely manner, including proposing journal entries to entities general ledgers
• Perform monthly account reconciliation and analysis in accordance with GAAP
• Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
• Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
• Track the progress of financial and accounting objectives
• Ensure compliance with the law
• Recommends updates to enhance accounting software
• Recommends and implement updates on accounting processes
• Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets
  

Requirements:

• 8 - 10 years of accounting experience
• Quickbooks experience mandatory
• Excel experience highly preferred
• Bachelors Degree Preferred
• Multi-entity preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Cannabis Experience is preferred

Compensation: Contract, Hourly Basis $33 - $43
