    Steel Shop Foreman - 2nd Shift - York, PA

    Pay: Negotiable based on experience

    Shift: 2:30pm to 11pm; Monday to Friday

    Summary:

    • The 2nd Shift Steel Shop Foreman will oversee and lead a team of skilled professionals to ensure smooth operations and adherence to strict quality standards during the second shift. Your primary focus will be managing the fabrication and assembly processes, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring timely project completion.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the structural steel industry.
    • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, techniques, and industry standards.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor employees.
    • Solid organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

    Job Duties:

    • Supervise and lead a team of shop employees during the second shift, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Coordinate and schedule daily work assignments to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards in all shop activities.
    • Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to review project specifications, blueprints, and drawings.
    • Oversee and monitor the fabrication, assembly, and welding processes to ensure accurate and precise execution.
    • Conduct regular inspections to verify the quality of completed work and resolve any issues or defects.
    • Provide guidance and training to shop employees, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the availability of materials, tools, and equipment required for production.
    • Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase requests for necessary supplies and materials.
    • Collaborate with project managers and other departments to resolve any production-related issues and ensure smooth workflow.
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, employee attendance, and other relevant documentation.
