    JOB PURPOSE

    The Advanced Concept Engineer will be responsible to deliver engineering input for fully functional vehicle prototypes, show, and marketing properties. You will develop parts and commodities, dynamic systems for BIW, Closures, Chassis, Exterior and Interior.

    Being familiar with hand and rapid prototype manufacturing methods to support our manufacturing and fabrication team is essential. You have an absolute passion for design and pushing the automotive industry to where the electric vehicle revolution will allow it to go.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop full vehicle prototypes, show and marketing properties utilizing hand and rapid manufacturing methods
    • Have a good understanding of automotive component packaging requirements across all departments – BIW, Closures, Chassis, Exterior and Interior Trim
    • Develop parts and commodities for vehicle builds
    • Develop dynamic systems, such as glass drop, closures sweeps, wheel travel, and their effect on associated geometry, cutlines, and craftmanship
    • Utilize CAD (preferably Catia V6) to review, create and organize information from and for Design and Engineering
    • Understand and advise on program management for engineering & design activities, such as timing for prototype builds
    • Deep understanding of competitive landscape, lead benchmarking activities

    EXPERIENCE

    • 12 years relevant automotive experience at OEM and/or Supplier
    • Highly proficient in Catia V5 (Catia V6/3D experience preferred)
    • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, Automotive Design)
    • Great knowledge of automotive landscape, particularly as it pertains to Electric Vehicles
