    JOB PURPOSE

    The Receiving & Incoming Inspection Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and initial quality inspection of inventory. You will inspect purchased Electrical/Mechanical parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements. You will inspect for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, as well as performing visual inspection for defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits. Records of inspection results are maintained in our ERP system. Reporting to In Charge of Logistics, you will support in verifying conformity to program and purchase order requirements, as well as engineering requirements defined in specifications and/or blueprints and makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Receive, quality check, label, process and store all incoming products and material
    • Perform dimensional and visual inspections using basic equipment and established procedures with minimum supervision
    • Compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order
    • Support in developing MRB procedures for non-conformance at incoming inspection and module levels
    • Perform other related duties and be flexible in the factory plant as assigned or business need
    • Generate and perform Verification activities on Non-Conforming Material Reports
    • Perform First Article Inspections as required
    • Perform Surveillance Audits as required
    • Inspect purchased parts & materials for conformance to specifications
    • Examine items for defects in materials, work, and damage occurring in transit, inspects and measures items for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation, according to prints, parts manuals, company standards, and other specifications
    • Possess the ability to read engineering drawings to identify critical dimensions and specs
    • Approve or reject items and record inspection and disposition information
    • Maintain and assign inventory locations and labels within the warehouse
    • Use and update internal Inventory Management System daily
    • Setup production and kitting stations and manage Work Order paperwork
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization in Warehouse and Receiving areas
    • Work with Logistics and Materials Management staff to assure proper inventory values are being maintained
    • Pick-up and/or drop off parts and materials to manufacturing as needed

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED, college education a plus
    • Experience in precision measuring
    • Experience as a quality inspector, specifically inspecting machining parts
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to accommodate change to scope, timeline, or focus without sacrificing execution
    • Adept at communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs
    • Must have the ability to work on multiple projects within the same day
    • Must have the ability to follow directions, work independently and with minimal supervision
    • Works with a flexible schedule and demonstrates effective time management
    • Must have experience with detail-oriented work
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

    • Automotive and/or battery industry experience preferred
    • Warehouse, receiving, or shipping experience preferred
    • Available for all shifts and extended hours: work schedule may vary depending on business needs, and flexibility is required
    • Proven ability to manage, launch, and achieve standardization practices using process improvement tools
    • Self-starter with proven ability to give and gain the respect of all employees
