JOB PURPOSE

The Fabrication Intern is a hard-working individual who is looking to expand/hone their skills. As an ideal candidate, you are a self-starter as well as a collaborative team-player. You must be safety oriented, maintain a very organized workspace, and be sufficient at self/time management. This is a paid internship for Summer 2021 with an option to start on May 24, 2021 or June 21, 2021 and an option to end on August 13, 2021 or September 10, 2021.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Regularly complete fabrication tasks using light sheet metal to heavy structural steel including but not limited to cutting, grinding, shaping, polishing, and bending
• Regularly complete basic fabrication tasks on steel, stainless, and aluminum
• Will perform basic woodworking tasks
• Will operate heavy shop equipment
• Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
• Handle all other related tasks as assigned by manager

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Must have understanding of basic hand tools
• Must be comfortable with basic assembly

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Previous on-the-job training or trade school 
• Experience working with drill press, sheer, press brake, box/pan brake, pattern generation, sheet metal layout, iron worker, disc grinder 
• Welding experience
