    JOB PURPOSE 

    The Vehicle Craftsmanship Engineer will support Design Quality, Design, Engineering and manufacturing teams to quantify the required product content of perceived quality  

    RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Focus on construction method to deliver a high-quality product 
    • Knowledge in a variety of production and prototype manufacturing 
    • Benchmarking of competitor vehicles and define a robust competitive Craftsmanship target 
    • Active Participation in Design development process 
    • Support and represent craftsmanship attribute and participate at all relevant meetings with Product Design 
    • Support the quality functions to ensure targets are understood and measurable 
    • Develop verification testing methods to ensure all targets are validated 
    • Develop and maintain gap and flush control documents  
    • Responsible to deliver feasible solutions to bring Design team's vision into production vehicles 
    • Ability to work cross functionally 
    • On time delivery of Craftsmanship targets to meet program timing

     

    EXPERIENCE 

    • BS in related engineering field and/or relevant experience 
    • 6+ years of automotive Craftsmanship or Perceived Quality  
    • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 
    • Expertise with the latest manufacturing technologies and execution to achieve systems requirements and World-class craftsmanship/performance targets 
    • Strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, including familiarity with GD&T and dimensional engineering 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Ability to present data effectively
