JOB PURPOSE

The Powertrain Intern will be responsible for testing and validation activities of cutting edge EV powertrain. 

This is a paid internship for immediate hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executing the powertrain characterization, and validation activities using dyno
• Implementing the test profiles using dyno
• Support dyno maintenance and calibration activities
• Support assembly and setup of drive unit test stands and fixtures
• Test results documentation and reporting
• Work with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to identify component, test stand, and fixture specifications and requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Master's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Experience with powertrain testing such as efficiency maps, capability curves, drive profiles tests, thermal characterization of the motor and inverter
• Experience with EV powertrain components such as inverter and motor
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and thermal physics
• Background in programming
• Strong communication skills and experience with presenting results and recommendations to multidisciplinary teams

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience with EV powertrain
• Experience with dyno
