RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with Body Design Engineering in the early development of the product and ensuring the manufacturing feasibility.
- Work closely with the process integrators and contract manufacturer in implementing the process into manufacturing facilities to ensure product quality and performance.
- Support the design, development and validation of new equipment and manufacturing process planning, develops/releases successful projects and manufacturing methods, and maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization with the contract manufacturing partner.
- Planning of production equipment, material, and parts based on product specifications and develops/implements product quality standards, estimates resource requirements, workload assignments, production cycle times and planning schedule for the manufacturing process while also developing budgets for product manufacturing and updating process.
- Run feasibility simulations using Catia Software to evaluate welding tool accessibility, to generate a virtual build process and to create a virtual library for different weld guns used to run feasibility studies.
- Will demonstrate the capability of working with the dimensional team to ensure the product GD&T capability.
- Works with the engineering and manufacturing teams to establish strategic tactical priorities and key objectives, and monitor organization performance.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 3-5 years in BIW in Automotive industry, stamping and welding knowledge is preferable
- 2-5 years' experience in design, development and production
- 3+ years of experience in using Catia Software
- 3+ years of capability to conduct feasibility simulation and run virtual build
- Strong DFMEA, PFMEA, GD&T process Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in weld gun selection
- Knowledge to perform and create operator risk analysis studies
- Knowledge of robots
- Project Management experience
- Experience with driving technical supplier and working with integrators
