    The Opportunity

    You will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer and work closely with other leaders and stakeholders of the company. You will have the responsibility and latitude to establish best practices and guide the accounting framework, starting with taking over and enhancing the accounting operations in alignment with GAAP. This is a great opportunity to come in at a key time of growth and make a huge impact.

    This is a hybrid position in South Jordan, Utah (M, W, F in-office).

    What You'll Do:

    • Manage all aspects of Canopy's accounting function including month-end and year-end closes, annual financial audits, payroll, A/P, A/R, state and federal tax compliance, state business registrations, GAAP compliance, various special analyses, etc.
    • Develop, enhance, and implement accounting policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and other teams to generate reliable, accurate, and timely financial data and metrics
    • Prepare or assist in the preparation of reports for investors, management, and external auditors
    • Work with Finance and Business Partners on critical business objectives and potential efficiencies, and provide concrete insights to help advise decision-making.
    • Develop, implement, and enforce financial controls and guidelines to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Help lead Canopy's accounting team - providing guidance, coaching, & support to enable and empower your team.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and policies to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • Excellent technical accounting skills, CPA preferred.
    • 1+ year of experience managing a team.
    • 6+ years of dynamic experience in Accounting. Start-up or high-tech SaaS is a plus.
    • 1+ years of people management experience
    • Prior experience with Zuora and Quickbooks is preferred.
    • Experience with SalesForce is a plus.

    Bonus Points If You Have:

    • Experience with Payroll (Rippling).

    Interviewing @ Canopy:

    We know application processes can be a little stressful. Here's are the stages of a typical interview process:

    • Once your application is received, we will review it and get back to you if we feel like it's a mutual fit!
    • 20 minute phone call with the People Team
    • 45-60 minute video or in-person interview with the Hiring Manager
    • 1-3 rounds of interviews depending on the role
    • Final Interview
