    POSITION OVERVIEW

    As Jon-Don continues to grow, they seek a Sr. Inventory Analyst to drive on time delivery of inventory to ensure a positive customer experience and maintain high levels of product availability.  The Sr. Inventory Analyst will focus on reviewing inventory forecast and demand variability while executing those plans to drive high levels of order fill rates while balancing the financial inventory investment. 

    The Sr. Inventory Analyst will be a part of the Inventory Management team and will report to the Director of Inventory Management.  He/she will work cross functionally with key internal business partners including Product Management, Warehouse, Sales, and other key areas impacted by the decisions made within Inventory Management as well as external partners (e.g. suppliers, third party partners, etc.). 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage the inventory plan and strategy for assigned portfolio of products
    • Review and adjust inventory forecasts and historical demand as needed to optimize investments
    • Work with internal partners including Sales and Product Management on new opportunities driving incremental demand on top of historical performance
    • Work with Product Management on new product launches, portfolio strategy transitions, and end of product life discontinuations
    • Review inventory positions within assigned portfolio and identify opportunities to deplete excess and obsolete inventory
    • Run data and perform analytics to identify improvement opportunities within inventory performance (e.g. fill rates and inventory turns)
    • Enhance current process or develop new process as needed regarding inventory

    KEY OPERATING METRICS:

    • Customer order and line fill rates
    • Inventory dollar turns
    • Excess and obsolete inventory dollars
    • Stock out rates

    Required Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field required – Supply Chain, Operations, Distribution
    • 3+ years’ experience in related field - Supply Chain, Operations, Inventory Management a plus
    • 3+ years’ experience in B2B distribution a plus
    • Experience in demand planning/inventory planning systems required (e.g. GAINSystems, SAP)
    • Exceptional attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Creative thinker – the ability to see the big picture and not just follow the process, the ability to solve the right problem, not just the obvious problem
    • Natural curiosity and not satisfied with the quick answer, continues to ask why and dig into the details where needed
    • Process oriented, with a focus on time management and managing multiple priorities
    • Strong stakeholder management skills, keeping informed those who are involved in key topics as they progress
    • A desire to progress in her/his career, an interest in learning and being coached
    • Able to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment
    • Strong communication and able to tailor message accordingly based on the audience
    • Collaborative and does not hesitate to solicit input or work with others to better understand the task at hand
    • Passion for process improvement and willingness to lead change initiatives
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel
