The position of Official Game Announcer is in the Athletics Department.  This individual would assist in pregame introductions, announcing of in game situations and conduct announcements for various athletic event on the Kishwaukee College campus.  Events typically start mid to late afternoons and early evenings and run about two (2) hours in duration each game/match.

Official Game Announcer will also have to interact with Kishwaukee coaching staffs, referees/officials, student athletes and opposing team coaches and players.  Games/matches vary from mid-August through to early November each year and from early October until mid-March each year.  Games are typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the week as well as some Saturdays.  Other days of the week do occur on occasion.

• Broadcast during the games as well as pregame introductions
• Keep fans engaged in the game by providing accurate details in an energetic tone throughout
• Understanding of general basketball rules

WORKLOAD SUMMARY: (Special physical requirements necessary for performance of the job)

• Work may include lifting some electronic equipment no more than 5-10 pounds
• Work is conducted in a loud indoor gymnasium environment
• This position requires some physical activity and movement but also requires sitting at a scorer’s table for hours at a time

• Some previous relevant game announcing experience at high school or college level.
• Understanding of sport rules
