  • Responsibilities

    The Production Supervisor, under the direction of the Production Manager, will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations and personnel on their assigned shift. In addition, this position is responsible for achieving defined operational performance metrics (SUR) and in supervising the department’s hourly personnel, administers policies and procedures, and manages personnel management initiatives. The incumbent will display a commitment to Core Values.

    • Selects, supervises, develops, evaluates and motivates personnel on their designated shift

    • Ensures operational Scrap Utilization Rate (SUR) goals are met

    • Plans and organizes human resources effectively to maximize productivity, while ensuring safety and quality requirements are adhered to

    • Provides technical leadership to shift personnel, to include: line setup/operation, metrics definition/reporting, testing, troubleshooting, and training facilitation

    • Directs personnel management initiatives to include: attendance tracking, staffing, safety training/reporting, employee performance reviews, counseling and corrective action, and development/retention

    • Makes recommendations on delegation of responsibility and recognize, develop, train and utilize talents and capabilities of all shift personnel

    • Promotes continuous improvement initiatives to include 6S and Lean Manufacturing

    • Develops new materials, tooling and processes to accomplish and improve stated SUR measurements, achieve costs savings, and support new product launches

    • Troubleshoots production issues and implements permanent solutions

    • Reviews and monitors processing changes to "red = react" in Quality Windows

    • Participates in Root Cause Corrective Action meetings to address production issues

    • Develops, maintains and audits process lock down parameters and BOPs

    • Identifies the need for replacement tooling and handles the development of these tools

    • Conducts investigations involving near misses, incidents and accidents and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken

    • Works closely with human resources and in managing workers'' compensation claims and return-to-work program to limit liability

    • Successfully completes professional development initiatives and promotes developmental opportunities to shift personnel

     

     

     

    Required Skills

    • Strong Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (JD Edwards) and timekeeping/payroll system (Kronos/E-Time)
