    OMNNI ASSOCIATES is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our team in our Appleton, Wisconsin office. This position gives you the chance to perform and/or supervise traffic impact studies, infrastructure cost analysis, and public road improvement and traffic control & signage plans associated with renewable power projects. To manage, prepare and complete a variety of civil engineering and transportation planning reports, studies and plans for large, complex projects in a timely and proficient nature to produce solutions for our client’s success.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Creating and analyzing transportation plans for construction of utility-scale energy project.
    • Leading traffic impact studies coordination and review of pavement, geotechnical and structural components.
    • Perform logistical analysis for transport and delivery of oversize equipment on public roads.
    • Manage sub-consultant scope of work and execute deliverables.
    • Collaborate with project managers to scope and execute transportation analysis on multiple projects.
    • Create and maintain a successful client relationship while building new relationships.
    • Some project assignments may include construction observation duties.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
    • 3 year minimum experience in highway design and/or construction
    • Desired candidate will possess design experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D and possess a good understanding of traffic engineering.
    • Preferred candidate will have working experience with traffic standards from state and local agencies; and transportation planning. Familiarity with WisDOT policies and procedures and knowledge of the WisDOT FDM.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills including, but not limited to verbal and written communication skills, active listening and negotiation skills, ability to understanding others’ perspectives.
    • Construction and estimating experience for public infrastructure projects is a plus.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license. You will be reimbursed for business-related travel.

    This is a Project Engineer level position with an opportunity to grow into a Project Manager position.

    • Create and maintain integrated project schedules including coordination of resources.
    • Maintains oversight of assigned projects to ensure they remain within scope, schedule and budget parameters.
    • Define budget and resource requirements.
    • Track and report cost and schedule performance.
    • Lead and/or participate in Service Provider selection and work package assignments and performance assessments.
    • Interface with vendors, ensuring necessary procurement of parts and materials for specific projects.
    • Process owner for configuration management and change control.
    • Prepares technical reports.
    • Administer project databases.
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    • Responsible for the assignment of work packages to subordinate project / program team members. Responsible for the mentoring of other team members and responsible for monitoring team member performance and for providing periodic performance assessments and annual performance reviews.
