    Halcyon Rehab is looking for a Full Time PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (PTA) in Shelby, MS at Shelby Nursing and Rehab Center.

     

     

     

    PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT must have graduated from an accredited program with Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant and/or graduating from an accredited school.

     

    Or, currently licensure or pending licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in desired state to work in.

    Our 60-bed facility provides a wide range of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for both short stay recovery, as well as ongoing supportive services for individuals requiring long-term care.

     

    Our rehab gym is nicely equipped, including ACP, to offer a comprehensive modality package that serves to enhance the treatment and intervention experience for our residents. In addition, we utilize Casamba software into our therapy documentation and therapy management, which offers efficient and user friendly clinical documentation.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The staff Physical Therapy Assistant performs patient/resident care and activities as directed by the Physical Therapist.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

    1. Treats patients/residents as directed by the Physical

    2. Records treatments provided and progress notes in the medical

    3. Collaborates with Physical Therapist on short and long term goals that lead to achievement of patient/resident

    4. Screens patients/residents based upon identified need, as state guidelines

    5. Attends and participates in patient/resident care conferences, interdisciplinary team meetings and other facility meetings as required or

    6. Assists with cleaning and maintenance of treatment areas and rehab

    7. Instructs families and nursing staff in restorative/home programs as directed by the Physical

    8. Communicates with patients/residents clearly and adjusts treatment based on their needs/abilities.

    9. Communicates with supervisor and team members regarding patient progress, problems and

    10. Conducts in-services and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis as

    11. Attends and participates in in-service training for other facility staff

    12. Records clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional

    13. Correctly identifies and bills for daily therapy services rendered per approved billing guidelines.

    14. Actively participates in the supervision process:

      1. Reviews evaluation results, treatment plan and goals with
      2. Communicates needs to appropriate
      3. Obtains co-signatures as
      4. Notifies appropriate personnel of unusual patient/resident findings in a timely manner.
      5. Demonstrates an awareness of limitations and seeks supervision
      6. Modifies performance in response to
      7. Carries out treatment as discussed with
    15. Must be able to travel between facilities as indicated.

    16. Performs other duties as required or

     

    EXPOSURE RISK: The Physical Therapy Assistant is at high risk for exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

    SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Physical Therapist.

     

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    1. Works in well-lit/ventilated office and therapy areas.

    2. Pressured work environment subject to frequent interruptions.

    3. Willingness to work in other facilities temporarily, when necessary.

    4. May be exposed to infectious diseases.
