    Capital District Regional Off Track Betting Corporation is looking for an energetic, and experienced Payroll/Accounting Specialist to join our Accounting Team.

    This position’s primary responsibility will be processing our biweekly payroll, less than 100 employees.

    Responsible for Account Payable/ for the Corporation.

    Oversee purchasing functions including NYS competitive biddings processes, including purchasing off NYS contract, bid creation and execution, bid awarding and vendor communication.

    Candidate should also be able to complete monthly reconciliations, prepare and report Quarterly NYS and federal filings.

    Knowledge of Sage software a plus.

    Responsibilities:

    • The Payroll/Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of Bi-weekly payroll in its entirety.
    • Responsible for investigating issues/problems and helping guide towards a resolution.
    • Prepare bank reconciliations and reconcile bank deposits.
    • Prepare all related Federal and State required quarterly and annual filing forms.
    • Oversee accounts payable functions including but not limited to, approving/coding invoices for payment.
    • Oversee purchasing functions including NYS competitive biddings processes, including purchasing off NYS contract, bid creation and execution, bid awarding and vendor communication.
    • Assists with Year-end preparation and filing of IRS Forms 1099.
    • Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare a trail balance for month-end financial statement preparation.
    • Prepare financial reports and journal entries.
    • Have a positive attitude and be able to work closely with all levels of the Comptroller's Office and Corporate Management on special assignments, projects, and analyses.

    Qualifications:

    • Must have 2 years of ADP Workforce Now payroll experience and knowledge of IRS and NYS quarterly and annual filing requirements.
    • General Knowledge of payroll systems, regulations, and practices.
    • Proficient working in Microsoft products including Excel.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Must be able to manage and maintain confidential information in a professional manner.
    • Exceptional attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to identify and resolve problems promptly.
    • Associate’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent knowledge and experience with at least 4 years working in the accounting field.
    • Knowledge of Sage 100 a plus
